The Sandhu Charitable Foundation

The Sandhu Charitable Foundation

We make a living by what we get; but we make a life by what we give.

Winston Churchill

We undertake the majority of our charitable activities directly and indirectly through The Sandhu Charitable Foundation (Charity Registration No. 1114236).

The Foundation was established as the long term focus for the philanthropic activities of Bim and Pardeep Sandhu and their family. It is anticipated that they and The Santon Group will remain the primary donors of the Foundation for the foreseeable future as the Foundation does not actively fundraise. The Foundation does not currently undertake any direct charitable activity but meets its charitable objectives by making grants to such charitable institutions or for such charitable purposes, in any part of the world, as the trustees in their absolute discretion determine. It is the short term policy of the Trustees, of whom Bim Sandhu is the Chairman, to support individual charities or charitable causes, often on a single donation basis. It is the current long term intent of the Trustees to:-

  • formulate a more focused charitable strategy which will make a fundamental and long term difference to the lives of the recipients; and
  • become more directly involved in charitable work at the ‘grass roots’ level and/or to identify and support partners on the specific objectives identified in (i) on a more regular basis.

The Foundation had audited net assets of £3.3 million as at 31 March, 2020 and had made charitable donations and commitments of over £3.0m to 137 different charitable organisations and causes. Since 31 March, 2020 the Foundation has made further donations and commitments of over £0.5m in particular to help with the impact of Covid-19.  Statutory information on the Foundation, including copies of the accounts, are available on the Charity Commission website – see
